Be The Change You Want to See

Sharing my client’s stories through the 40 over 40 project highlights every day struggles that women go through as well as emphasizing that beauty does get better with age. Meet Gayatri, originally from India and currently resides in Lexington. This beautiful lady is very focused in what she does but has such a calming presence about her, no wonder her patients love her. Here are a few snippets from her interview.

What made you get pictures done?

I saw the post on facebook and thought I should do it.  I love photographs.

How do you think the definition of beauty has changed over the years?

I think it has changed a lot.  It use to be more about physical appearance and now people are paying more attention to inner beauty.

What would you tell your 20-year-old self?

You are learning every day.

How would the people around you describe you?

Funny and kind.

What advice would you give a young mom today?

Have plenty of time and get help from parents or grandparents.

How do you feel about getting older?

More maintenance issues I guess.  No fighting against it.

What would your husband say if he saw you today?

I don’t know, it would be a surprise for him and a surprise for me.

When have you felt the most confident in life and why?

Several moments.  When I scored the highest in my state in India, I felt confident.  When I started my residency, I felt confident.  When i got married and had my son I felt confident. When I got my fellowship, I felt confident.   So, the key moments in my  life I have felt confident.

Most rewarding part of my job?

When I see patients turn around their health.

What motivates you?

I have to get up and get going.  Mom duties keep me going.

What is on your bucket list?

A trip to niagara falls.
